Our Last Week in Junior Infants

Locality Walk

We have been talking about Clondalkin lately. We named many of the buildings and places in Clondalkin - the playground, the schools, shops, the Mill shopping centre, Tesco, Corkagh Park, the Garda station, the bank, the library the Credit Union and lots more!

On Tuesday we had a walk around our school.

We saw the Round Towers GAA clubhouse, two-storey houses, an apartment block and Scoil Mhuire when we walked to the front gate of the school and looked around.

When we went up to the top yard we saw Scoil Íde, Scoil Áine and saw St. Joseph's boys' school.

We went through the gate to the church grounds where we saw the convent and the the church. When we walked halfway down the church car park we saw the top of the round tower! It is so tall.

The Round Tower makes Clondalkin a really special place to live. When we went back to the classroom we drew pictures of the round tower. We made fantastic drawings.

Clay Pots

Last week we rolled a piece of clay into a ball, stuck our thumb in the middle of it and pushed back the clay to make a small pot.

This week we had a chance to paint our pots.

Don't they look great?

Writing

We wrote two more sentences in our copies.

We wrote Come and play in the park on Monday.

We wrote The three little pigs are funny on Thursday.

Attendance Certificates

Five of the boys and girls in our class never missed a day of school. Isn't that fantastic? Here they are. Well done you guys!
