Fun with Phonics

Following the Parent Teacher Meetings that took place this past week I thought it would be helpful to let you, the parents, know the letters we have learned about so far this year.

We learn a new letter and sound each week while revising the previously learned letters every day. We learn a set phrase regarding the letter, the sound and a word that starts with that sound. i.e. a says |a| as in apple. We learn the Jolly Phonics song regarding that letter and a nonsense rhyme that features the sound prominently.  Below I have listed the letter, the set phrase and the matching Jolly Phonics Song.

Note: The letter t will be introduced next week.
