Shapes, Patterns and More...

This week we learned all about shapes.

Charlotte drew this picture during the week when her group had the writing box. We think she is absolutely right! Our world is full of shapes.

We learned the names of some shapes. We learned circle, rectangle, triangle and square. When we looked around we saw that shapes are everywhere!

We love to sing this song.

Shape Hunt

We had a shape hunt in our school. We started with a picture clue. We named the shape in the picture and then went to find it in the classroom. The next picture clue sent us outside the classroom and into the corridor. Again we named the shape we could see and tried to find it. Each clue sent us further down the corridor. When we got to the end of the corridor the clues sent us all the way back up into the classroom again.

We won a prize when we found the last clue. Woohoo!

Shape Table

In the classroom we made a table for shapes. We started with the circle table. We looked around for circle shaped things in the classroom. Some of us remembered to bring things from home.

Then we added the rectangle to the table.

Next week we will add some more shapes to the table.

Shape Game

We played a shape game on the IWB. Click the picture to play the game.

Patterns

During the morning activities each group had a turn playing with the camels. We made patterns with them. Ms Fox could not believe how good we are at making patterns! Have a look.

School Walk Raffle

On Friday we had a raffle for those who brought back the sponsorship cards for the School Walk. Here are the winners.

We had two winners from Room 2. Well done boys!

Writing Box

We are still using the writing box in the mornings and we are doing fantastic work.

Hickory Dickory Dock

We had been learning the poem Hickory Dickory Dock. Last week we made mice and this week they are running up and down the clock!

We love this video. It is really funny. Wait and see what happens when the clock strikes six!
