Lovely Leaves, Happy Hedgehogs and Amazing Apples

Last time we posted we had just gone on our autumn walk. We collected leaves. We took rubbings of the leaves. Look how we presented our leaf rubbings. We made two autumn trees, one with our rubbings and the other with the leaves we gathered. We think they look just like real autumn trees!

We used thin strips of brown paper to create the hedgehog's spines. During these two weeks we are learning a lot about the hedgehog. The hedgehog goes for a really long sleep over the winter. This is called hibernation. The hedgehog eats a very big dinner and then finds a nest to sleep for the the winter. Here we are sequencing the hedgehog's journey.

We drew spines on the hedgehog in our writing book.

We learned a song called The Farmer has an Orchard. An orchard is a garden where fruit trees grow. We made our own apple tree. Have a look. We coloured and cut the apples all by ourselves.

We finished the apple tree in our writing book.
